Environmental responsibility

Talentum's journals and books are printed by our subcontractors, as the company has no printers of its own. Of our subcontractors Talentum requires responsible operation that takes environmental and climate protection in consideration. Talentum proceeds to sorting and recycling of waste in compliance with the relevant Decrees. Disused materials, such as machines, equipment and waste paper, are recycled and recovered as far as possible. In 2010, a total of some3,405 tons of paper were used to print Talentum's journals and books in Finland and Sweden.

Talentum strives to reduce emissions from travel by relying on international conference calls and video conferences whenever possible. The maximum CO2 emission limit of company cars has been set at 160 g/km. Machines and equipment are replaced regularly. In both Helsinki and Stockholm, the Group's premises are located in city centres at good connections, thus encouraging the use of public transport for commuting and other travel.
