Talentum History

Talentum's history goes back to the year 1938 and the establishment of the financial journal Talouselämä. Today, Talentum is a Nordic media company with expertise in publishing books and magazines, online activities and telemarketing.

2011

Talentum sells Sverige Bygger and Norge Bygges companies. Magazine Byggvärlden is included in the transaction.

2010

Talentum acquires IIR FInland Oy. It's name is changed to Talentum Events Oy.

2009

Talentum establishes in Sweden Talentum Business Information Group AB, which acquires Sverige Bygger AB and Norge Bygges AS - companies producing business information for construction industry.

2008

Talentum sells Varesvuo Partners Oy, DH Tools Oy and Faktor Oy. Talentum Sweden establishes the magazine Byggvärlden in Sweden.

2007

Talentum Sweden buys the journals Arbetarskydd and Dagens Media in Sweden and establishes the journal Dagens Teknik. Talentum Sweden also acquires the Thomson Fakta Regulatory business, which is renamed Talentum HR.

Talentum sells its Reprostudio & Heku repro business.

2005

Talentum sells its entire holding in Satama Interactive Oyj, which it set up in 1997.

Talentum acquires the Swedish Ekonomi & Teknik Förlag AB, which is renamed Talentum Sweden AB.

2004

Talentum acquires the journal Arvopaperi.

2003

Talentum Digital Media merges with Talentum Media Oy.

2002

Talentum increases its holding in Varesvuo Partners Oy to 90%.

2001

WOW-verkkobrandit Oy becomes Talentum Digital Media Oy.

2000

Kauppakaari Oyj becomes a subsidiary of Talentum.

Satama Interactive Oyj becomes listed.

1999

Establishment of WOW-verkkobrandit Oy.

Sansibar Oy transferred to the ownership of Satama.

1998

Talentum Oyj moves on to the main list of Helsinki Stock Exchange.

Mediuutiset Oy Ab is established to publish the magazine Mediuutiset.

1997

Satama Interactive Oyj is set up.

Talentum buys nearly half of Varesvuo Partners Oy.

1995

Talentum buys a majority holding in Suoramarkkinointi Mega Oy and Mediayhtiö Sansibar Oy.

1994

Mainosuutiset undergoes renewal and changes its name to Markkinointi & Mainonta.

1990

Talentum Oy is born in the merger of Insinöörilehdet Oy and Talouselämä Oy.

1988

Insinööriuutiset journal changes its name to Tekniikka&Talous.

Insinöörilehdet Oy and Talouselämä Oy are both separately listed in Helsinki Stock Exchange.

1982

Tietoviikko Ky is established to publish the magazine Tietoviikko.

1961

Insinöörilehdet Oy and Insinööriuutiset established.

1955

The Suomen Laki (Finnish Law) book comes out for the first time.

1938

Talouselämä starts appearing.
